Comments in, conversations out
Instagram does not do links in captions or comments. Vinco Engage gets fans there anyway. They comment a keyword; the tool replies publicly and sends the link by DM. The comments are engagement on your post, and the DMs put fans exactly where you want them: your broadcast, your tickets, your mailing list.
Why it works
Links where Instagram allows none
Captions and comments cannot carry a link. A keyword comment triggers a DM that can: your OTT broadcast, your ticketing, your mailing list signup. No link-in-bio detour.
Engagement that earns its keep
A keyword CTA gives every fan a reason to comment, and the comment count is public social proof on the post. Rotating public replies keep the thread active long after you have moved on.
Comments feed the algorithm
Instagram decides how widely a post travels partly on how people interact with it, and comments and messages count. A post collecting keyword comments is generating exactly the interaction Instagram looks for. We promise no reach figures; only Instagram controls that.
An audience you own
Conversations end on channels you measure and keep: OTT subscriptions, ticket sales, mailing list signups. Tag fans on the way through and each signup traces back to the post that produced it.
Account protection
The 24-hour messaging window, send throttling and reply rotation are enforced by the tool. A message that would break a platform rule is held back, not sent.
Vinco infrastructure
Built and run in-house on Vinco's own backend. Your automations, tokens and conversation data stay with Vinco, not a third-party tool.
A typical exchange
A broadcast-day post with the caption: comment WATCH and we'll send you the link.
How a campaign runs
You write the post and pick the keyword. Vinco Engage watches the post (or your next post, set it before you publish), and from the first comment it does the work: a public reply from a rotating set of wordings, then the DM. The conversation you built takes over from there: buttons, branches, a follow check if you want one, and tags recording what each fan asked for. You watch the results, not the notifications.
- Triggers: a specific post, any post, or the next post you publish
- Keyword matching, or respond to every comment
- Rotating public replies so the thread never reads as copy-paste
- Buttons, branches, follow gates and tags in a visual editor
Built for broadcast days
Comment volume on a sports account is not steady; it spikes when the stream goes live, entries open or a result drops. Vinco Engage is built for that rhythm. Automations run the moment the comment lands, at any volume, within the platform's pacing rules. The team that built it runs it on Vinco's own accounts on those same days.
Where fans end up
Every conversation ends at a destination you choose. For a broadcaster that is usually the OTT platform or a live stream page. For an organiser, entries or ticketing. For any account, a mailing list signup that turns a one-off commenter into an audience you can reach directly. Send tagged links and each destination can attribute its traffic to the post that produced it.
Compliance is the product, not a promise
Automated messaging gets accounts restricted when tools ignore the platform's rules. Vinco Engage enforces them in the engine: the 24-hour messaging window is checked before every send, public replies are throttled and rotated, and a message that would break a rule is held back and logged rather than sent. You can see what was held back and why.
Support and setup
Connecting an account is a one-click Instagram authorisation; no passwords are shared with us. Operators use the builder from hub.vincosport.com, and partner accounts get frontend access without WordPress admin. The managed tier adds our team building, copywriting and reviewing your automations around your event calendar.
Common questions
Will this get my account restricted?
The guardrails exist for exactly that reason. Vinco Engage respects the 24-hour messaging window, throttles public replies, rotates reply wording, and holds back any send that would break a platform rule. Held-back sends are logged, not lost silently.
What can the DMs link to?
Anything with a URL. Typical destinations are an OTT broadcast or live stream, ticketing, and mailing list signup pages. Tags record what each fan asked for, so you know which campaign brought them in.
Will this improve my reach and follower numbers?
Nobody outside Instagram can promise reach, and we do not. What is verifiable: keyword CTAs raise comment counts, comments and DM exchanges are the interactions Instagram says its ranking systems weigh, a follow gate can ask fans to follow before the link is sent, and the end destinations, your mailing list and OTT platform, are metrics you own and can measure post by post.
Which platforms does it support?
Instagram, through Meta's official platform. The tool is built to add more platforms later; we say so when they are live, not before.
Who builds the automations?
You do, in a visual editor with a plain-language Steps mode and a flowchart view. Or choose the managed tier and our team builds and runs them for you.
Do you guarantee message delivery?
No. Delivery depends on Meta's platform. What we do guarantee is that Vinco Engage will not attempt sends that break the platform's rules, which is what keeps accounts healthy.
Where does the data live?
On Vinco's own infrastructure in the UK and EU (AWS eu-west-1), encrypted at rest. Vinco Sport Ltd is the operator; see the privacy notes below.
